While not being the highest or the widest waterfall in the world, the Victoria Falls is considered maybe the most beautiful waterfall in the world. Located in Africa, on the Zambezi River between Zambia and Zimbabwe, it is called “the smoke that thunders” by local tribes and it offers spectacular views for those that travel all the way to Africa to see it. But nothing is as beautiful and thrilling as the Devil’s Pool, a small naturally formed swimming pool right near the edge of the fall.

Accessed from Livingstone Island in Zambia, it allows people to swim very close to the edge, with a natural stone wall preventing them from falling 360 feet. Of course, no one says it’s 100% safe, because there’s about one person falling and dying every year. But these are isolated accidents, because, as you can see in the photos, people usually have a lot of fun swimming in the Devil’s Pool.
